In our last blog post, we discussed how a novelty pet ghost is found and lovingly captured. We delved a little into the sigils we choose to use, but this is definitely the most complicated and exciting part. You can’t just slap any old signs down and call it a day – ghosts are as unique as any unliving creature.
Those pretty scribbles aren’t just for show! Let’s take a look into how our team of experts actually manage to keep intangible beings in a tangible box, so you can hang out with them at your convenience.
How Do You Pick Novelty Pet Ghost Sigils?
When choosing the right sigil combinations, we keep in mind the ghost, its power levels, individual needs, and behavior. If you’re unfamiliar, here’s a short rundown of what dictates these things in a ghost:
This section is mostly here so our competitors can try and fail to replicate the design, allowing us to rub it in their faces at ghost conferences.
Sigil Application by MyGhostBox
It’s for your benefit too, in case you fancy yourself a sigil nerd (these were always our favorite parts of the grimoires too. Sadly our process talks a lot less about magically problematic sex.)
Based on the above factors (and other minor factors that run parallel), the Ghost Box meant to hold your novelty pet ghost is imprinted with the tailored sigils that fulfill six primary categories - hence our Six Point Design. These include:
Sigil Layers
Foundation Sigils
Base sigils which properly channel and distribute all of the following sigil energy.
Binders
For binding and sealing the spirit into its container.
Rebound Sigils
To absorb and return the impact of energy when encountered; this enhances box strength, especially when the ghost is agitated and lashes out. Extremely important for volatile subjects.
Corner Rings
Specialized sigils located on each corner of the box, operating as a focuser; they work in three ways:
- To reinforce energy in vulnerable points (the corners).
- To keep the energy of foundation sigils looping consistently, around corners and to each face.
- To provide stable contact points for rebound lines, so if a ghost “slams” its energy outward, it’s channeled back from every point of the box; this dampens spirit energy and keeps it from leaking out into the surrounding area.
Identifiers
A cutting edge addition made in-house and applied to every box, not just special orders (unlike lazy Four Point or Five Point designs). Identifiers are unique to the manifestation type in question and serve two functions:
- Ensuring precise binding and a stable grip on the ghost energy, so the other sigils cannot be easily worn down over time.
- Careful energy deadening, limiting the ghost’s influence outside its box, but without Isolation Trapping. These identifiers are incredibly responsive and thus delicate, requiring our best sigilers. Ghost-by-ghost tweaks are hard to detect by the untrained eye, hence our two-stage quality review process below.
Accents
As final touches, the accents are not found in Four Point designs and are often used sparingly in Five Point designs. Our boxes are generous with accent sigils, which are chosen based on ghost location, post-life age, and behavior. They offer extra features like box distractions, ghost soothing, tampering redirection, and latching prevention.
